Tank Requirements
• Fully cycled aquarium required: your tank must be fully cycled before adding any snails. Watch the YouTube care guide (linked above)—best viewed on your mobile device—for a step-by-step breakdown of how to cycle your tank properly.
• Tank size: mystery snails grow up to 2.5 inches in shell diameter and need space to thrive. The minimum recommended tank size is 5 gallons per adult snail, with 10 gallons or more preferred for long-term care or housing multiple snails.
• Water parameters:
Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)
pH: 7.0 or higher
Ammonia/Nitrites: 0 ppm
Nitrates: ideally below 20 ppm
• Calcium support required: mystery snails need calcium to build and maintain healthy shells. Be sure to include:
Crushed coral in your substrate or filter media
Calcium shells
Size and Lifespan
• Adult size: up to 2 to 2.5 inches in shell diameter
• Average lifespan: 1 to 1.5 years, with some living up to 2 years with excellent care
Why These Snails Are Special
• Shell health from day one: raised with crushed coral and calcium shells to support strong, vibrant, and healthy shell growth from hatchling stage.
• Clean, nutritious diet: fed only blanched green beans and our own homemade algae wafers, specially formulated to support natural growth without fillers or junk.
• Peaceful and tank-tested: these snails are already accustomed to floating plants (like frogbit, Salvinia, and duckweed) and peaceful tank mates like guppies and shrimp—making them ideal for community setups.
